Spotlight on SUNY Libraries: Textbooks in Libraries Online

*A Zoom link will be sent after you register.*

Join librarians from SUNY Brockport, SUNY Canton, Hudson Valley CC, and SUNY Polytechnic Institute for the next Spotlight on SUNY Libraries. The Spotlight series showcases the great work happening in SUNY libraries and fosters a network of collaboration among SUNY librarians and library staff.

Presentation Title: The Next Chapter in Textbook Affordability: A Conversation about Textbooks in Libraries

Description: As textbook prices continue to present a financial hardship for students, some SUNY libraries have found or are piloting creative solutions to get course materials into students’ hands.  In this roundtable conversation, learn about four different campus library textbook programs, including how the libraries acquire print and electronic textbooks, market and assess their programs, and tips for incorporating a textbook program into your library.

About the Presenters: Mary Jo Orzech is the Scholarly Communications Librarian at SUNY Brockport; Jess Spooner is an Associate Librarian at SUNY Canton; Rebecca Hewitt is an Associate Librarian at SUNY Polytechnic Institute; Brenda Hazard is the Library Director at Hudson Valley Community College.

Spotlight on SUNY Libraries is designed to be an informal conversation about specific topics related to SUNY libraries.  After a presentation from our SUNY colleagues, there will be time to ask questions, chat, and discuss.  The session will be recorded for those who cannot attend, and associated documents and resources will be shared out.
